Brain Stain

Your mark on my brain could be seen as decoration
or
as a stain.

I choose the former, for what’s the use in seeing something so bright and so
colourful
as something that has simply
discoloured
its surrounds.

You define decoration,
you’re the furthest thing from a stain,

And while I’ll work hard to scrub you out, as I would any fleck of failure, riddled with imperfection,
riddled with pain,

the shape of your faint outline
will shape
and it will outline

all future decorations, and all future stains,

and your influence
will never fade:

because
you’ve stained
my brain

And stains
remain.

BRAIN STAIN II: ABSENCE

I mind your absence-
Your absent mind

You’re lost? Me too!

It’s your loss.. yet I lose,

We’re lost,
you choose.

So you chose.
and we lose.

I recluse.
